Another Year to be Grateful

Whew! Days have gone by so fast I hardly have time to breathe!  But, I am thankful, especially that I celebrated another year of my life.  They often say not to look back in the past, to always look forward, but I disagree.  Sometimes, you have to shift your sights a bit towards the back so you can see how far you’ve come.  This way, you can smile and be grateful for everything that you’ve gone through, good and bad.

And as I take that peek at the past year of my life, I am thankful for all the many things I’ve learned.  For all the people I’ve met – whether they were just passing by my life or stayed as lifetime friends.  I am grateful for my family for all the love and support they shower me.

And though I don’t have mountains of cash to buy the things I want, I am thankful that I have enough to buy the things I REALLY need.  Father, thank You!

An now, I look ahead, eager for the new lessons I will learn int his journey!

Oh and before I forget, I am thankful that the husbo has finally replaced that ngk o2 sensor! :)

Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead Movie

I’ve long thought and talked about eating healthy but watching Joe Cross’ movie Fat, Sick and Nearly dead jolted me to action!  The movie kind of opened my eyes to the kinds of processed foods we eat and oh my goodness!  The things we put into our body!  No wonder there are all kinds of diseases out there.  That is why the husbo and I are going to try juicing, Thanks also to the inspiring journey of our online friends Aggie and Glo!

Next week will be our preparation week and then we go full force the following week.  I am really looking forward to this new project!

And I really like that though in the move: “If our bodies can heal outwardly (scrapes, cuts) then there’s no reason for it not to heal inwardly.”

I will keep you posted.

5 Budget Friendly Ways to Show Some Mothers Day Love

Mother's Day, Parents, Mom, Mama, Mom Love, Gifts for Mom

Mothers Day is fast approaching! It’s that one special day where the world stops their busy schedule and take time to show their mom how thankful they are to have her.  And if you’re running out of ideas or you are low on budget, here are ideas to show mom you love her:

1. Actually tell her how you love and appreciate her.  Take time to sit down with your mom, talk to her, find out how she is and actually tell her how much she means to you!  This is by far the most inexpensive, and yet most heartfelt gift you can give your mom.  And I am sure she’s going to treasure this for the rest of her life!

2. Let her have a day to herself.  Let mom go out and have a day at the spa or maybe have her hair and nails done. Get out that reel lawn mower and don’t let her worry about any of the chores at home!

3. After that wonderful day at the spa or salon, cook her dinner!  See your mom’s face light up when she comes home to smell a wonderful dinner laid out for her!

4. Take her to the park for a picnic.  A day of bonding and talking will do her some good!  I am sure your mom is dying to know how you are and what’s going on in your life, especially if you live far away from each other.

5. And if you are living in another country, don’t just spend a few dollars on greeting cards and postage stamps.  Call her and let her feel your love and appreciation even from miles away.  In the current world of facebook, webcams and Skype, this isn’t too hard to do!

You see, the cost of the gift doesn’t really matter.  It’s HOW you show your love and appreciation for her.  It’s being there for her that’s most important!

What a Week!

Whoever said working from home building your own business was easy?

I’ve been on this road for about a few months and I am about ready to give up.  But of course I won’t.  It’s just that last week was super stressful!  My equipment were ganging up on me!  One by one, they were breaking down or having some issue of some sort and all in the middle of an important project – one which the deadline was looming.  I was ready to tear my hair out already!

And then in the midst of chaos, I reminded myself to breathe slow and remember that I have to stay positive.  That things will work out fine and they did. It was hard to do for a pessimist like me, but hey, it was worth trying. :)  My equipment aren’t at 100% just yet, but they can be used – at least until the technician gives me a visit next week.

So there, I just wanted to let it all out and to leave you with the lesson I learned:

optimism, faith, posters, infographics, pinterest

Happy weekend everyone!

Today, I Am Thankful For…

Here’s what I am thankful for today:

1. The gift of time to spend with my family. I love spending time with my parents and siblings on a weekend.  Having meals together and catching up on the latest news.  Well, actually we just talk about anything and everything under the sun. Today we were enlightened by my sister about xanogen benefits.

2. A patient and loving husband who never tires of driving me to my parent’s home and loving them as much as he loves me. :)

3. A sister who loves books as much as I do! Since we could not share clothes because of my HUGE size, we share books instead. Today she lent me 3.  Whoopee!

What are you thankful for today?

Summer is Here!

Boracay_049The heat is scorching! We average 35 degrees in the mornings and about 25 degrees in the evenings.  People have been flocking to the malls to cool a bit.  Most are taking their vacations in the beautiful beaches of our country.  I can just imagine the partying that goes on with the high quality JBL speakers blasting out some party tunes!  Ahh summer – you are finally here!

Look Forward to Each New Day

2011-05-01_1304290117

There’s a quote that I need to remind myself of every single day.  It says: “The best is yet to come!”  So, to keep me excited about those that are yet to come, I am listing down some of the things I am looking forward to:

1. Mother’s day 2012.  I am planning to give my mom something special to let her know how much I am grateful for having her in my life.  I was planning on giving her this exquisite gold chain which I know she will love!

2. New and fresh ideas for the business.

3. Our Bohol trip in September.

There’s something good to look forward to every day.  What’s yours? Do you believe the best is yet to come? Please share your thoughts on the comments box below.

Boredom Can Be Good For You!

Today marks my 4th month out of the corporate world.  I am doing okay.  I do miss the huge steel buildings of our various offices that allows me to see the view but I am coping.

A few have asked me if I ever got bored about being a stay-at-home wife, my answer would be “no”.  In fact, I long for a day or two of boredom!  My schedule has been filled with both business and household tasks that I couldn’t even find the time to be bored.  If you think about it, I am more busy now than when I was working in my corporate job!  At least there, I could leave work when my shift ends.

After 2 months of full on task calendar, I took a step back and re-evaluated my schedule. I thought, maybe they were right, we all need to take a step back every now and then and refresh our mind and bodies to help us do more work. So how did I squeeze in rest when I had tons on my to-do-list?  Read on.

Weekly Gratitude – 04.14.12

This week, I am grateful for:

  1. A husband who knows how to ask nicely
  2. Parents who never stop loving me.
  3. Coffee in the morning to wake up my sleepy self.
  4. The ability to create something.
  5. Feet to walk and hands to do stuff.
  6. A roof and a bed
  7. Daily meals.

I know some of you thinks I am being melodramatic, but these things I often take for granted so I wanted to take some time to remind myself that God is all I have, therefore, I have EVERYTHING I need.

What are you thankful for?
